WATCHING THE WATERS OF "REGION-L"

OUR MISSION

The South Central Texas Water Coalition (SCTWC) will proactively help address surface and ground water issues of the South-Central Texas Regional Water Planning Area (“Region L”), and advocate positively for the preservation and conservation of the Region L lakes’, water supply and water levels for health, safety, and recreation; and for the recognition of the Region L lakes’ as an irreplaceable economic engine for the State of Texas."

WATER DATA HUB 

WATER RIGHTS VIEWER

The Water Rights Viewer includes information about water rights authorizations and other water related information. A user can find information about the location of authorized water rights points, a copy of the water right and the Adjudication Final Determination, current ownership of the water right, recent water use data, and TCEQ’s adopted environmental flow standards. 

PUBLIC WATER SYSTEMS

This interactive map viewer allows the public to view, search, download and print retail water service boundaries of public water systems across Texas. The viewer also provides access to related reports including historical water use data and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality public water system information. 

SURFACE WATER QUALITY

This viewer allows users to find information on the quality of any body of surface water that TCEQ monitors.. 

WASTEWATER OUTFALLS

The Wastewater Outfalls Viewer enables users to view TCEQ-permitted wastewater outfalls in the state of Texas. Users can view names, permit numbers, status, and other information about a wastewater outfall. Tools are provided to query specific outfalls. Users can also locate and identify outfalls within a selected radius. Other standard tools such as measuring and print are also provided. 

TEXAS WATER DISTRICTS

The Water Districts Map Viewer enables users to search and view water districts using an online map interface. The viewer also links to the Integrated Water Districts Database (iWDD) for additional detailed information. 

RESERVOIR STATUS

Texas historical and current reservoir data 

GROUNDWATER

This interactive mapping application provides access to water-related data for Texas. The viewer contains several GIS datasets relating to water resources, including TWDB groundwater data, brackish groundwater data, and data from the Submitted Driller's Reports Database.

AQUIFER DATA

A three dimensional interactive viewer for exploring the major aquifers of Texas.. The subsurface models are based on data derived from the TWDB Groundwater Availability Modeling Program. Individual model layers can be displayed or hidden and the entire model can be rotated and reoriented. In addition, 3-dimensional cell columns or rows can be displayed as a cross section

  As more and more Texas Lakes and Reservoirs are drained or under threat of being drained, Our first priority as the South Central Texas Water Coalition is to fight for the restoration and presrevation of these reservoirs and the benefits they bring to Region "L' economically, and environmentally, and culturally.

PRESERVE THE HISTORY

   The Guadalupe Valley Hydroelectric Lakes played a significant roll in the growth of the sourrounding areas of San Antonio, Seguin, New Braunfels, and Gonzales. 

On May 14th, 2019, All 26 hinges that connected the cener spillgate The center spillgate at Lake Dunlap Dam in New Braunfels Texas severed, from the concrete superstructure and washed down stream, never to be recovered. 

 The events that followed would set the stage for the formation of this coalition.
